The term shojo or shoujo manga refers to manga or anime marketed to a female audience roughly between the ages of 10 and 18. It emphasizes being placed on personal relationships rather than world-shaking battles or politics.
The word shojo in Japanese means literally little girl.
There are many kinds of shoujo but the 2 main are :Shoujos that focus on romance and high school life

- This type of shoujo usually is more realistic (not much though) , has a lot a romance and the protagonist is usually female, shows the teenage perspective of being in love, or the daily life of high school students . Here are some examples:

- Mahou in Japanese means magic, and shojo, girls, so this type of shoujo shows girls with magical powers in a fantastic world. It’s usually made for younger girls and the anime usually shows a lot of color. Here are some examples:
